In the summer of 2020, 14 years since Yammer was packed into boxes, I was imprisoned by the pandemic lockdown, and started recording again, with three friends separately, using the internet to exchange audio.
Reconnecting with my old First Night With the Indians bandmate, I started a collaboration with David Tomlinson. David came up with the idea to record an anthology of an imaginary 80s band, as it progressed through several phases — starting with a rough and ready Punk debut EP.
We based the EP on four old unused First Night With the Indians songs from 1984. I arranged and recorded them from scratch between August and October, and David completed the vocals in December.
At the same time, I started my Lowly Man project.
David continues the anthology project, as Leaf Gatherers.
