At a party in 1983, Keith Nuttall and Craig Jepson (Cloudburst sound man / back-up drummer) decided to form a covers band as an excuse to perform a few gigs in Darwen over the summer. They formed Albino Dinnerjacket, recruiting former Cloudburst bandmates Steve Farrell and Gordon Farquhar, and local keyboardist Pat Fielding.

They adopted an anthropomorphic rabbit as the band logo, and gave themselves ridiculous stage names, as cult-followers of the eponymous rabbit. They performed several gigs at various function halls in Darwen.

Keith and Gordon continued to compose and record original material during this period, and produced a demo compilation, It’s My Ambition to Pull the Plug Out at a Heavy Metal Show.
A year later, Keith, Craig, and Gordon would form Back to the Grind with Psychopython bassist Michael Brandon.
